Synopsis
The most successful premium drama from French-speaking Africa (and one of the first),Cacao tells the story of rival cocoa-growing families, led by unscrupulous patriarchs: the aristocratic Elie Desva versus the crude, self-made man, Jean Ahitey.
Described as "Dallas' — but with cocoa, not oil — this series features family drama, business intrigue and criminal corruption. It also highlights crucial issues around sustainable development, environmentalism, child labor and social justice in Africa.
Cacao lacks the technical polish of European or North American series. But makes up for it with authenticity, and exposes viewers to a completely different world
