Stratford Festival Twelfth Night, Antony and Cleopatra and The Tempest

Synopsis

With too many award wins and nominations to list, the late, great Christopher Plummer returned to the Stratford Festival stage in his 80's to perform in Shakespeare's The Tempest and George Bernard Shaw's Caesar and Cleopatra. Brian Dennehy, another award-winning stage and screen actor takes the stage as part of North America's largest classical repertory theater company as Sir Toby Belch in Twelfth Night.

TEMPEST (2010) 1 x 131':
Christopher Plummer stars as the sorcerer Prospero, former Duke of Milan, in this spectacular production, directed by Des McAnuff. Marooned with his daughter on a remote island populated only by spirits and the monstrous Caliban, Prospero uses his magical arts to raise a storm at sea, bringing him face to face at last with those who deposed him twelve years earlier. With his enemies in his power, he now faces a choice: to exact revenge or to build a brave new world for the next generation.

CAESAR AND CLEOPATRA (2009) 1 x 130'
The celebrated wit of George Bernard Shaw makes sparkling comedy of political drama as veteran strategist Julius Caesar becomes mentor to the enchanting teenage queen of Roman-occupied Egypt. From her first timid encounter with Caesar under a desert moon, Cleopatra grows in strength to become a determined player in the game of power - but will she really learn what Caesar wants to teach her? Des McAnuff's 2008 production stars Christopher Plummer and Nikki M. James in the title roles.
